Adding a Custom Hero Section

By default, Aspect theme does not display a hero section on the homepage. However, you can easily add one by creating a custom page with the slug home-hero. This feature allows you to create hero section with your own title, description, and image.

How It Works

When you create a page with the slug home-hero, Aspect theme will automatically use:

• Page title → Hero section title
• Page excerpt → Hero section description
• Featured image → Hero section background image

Creating the Hero Page

Follow these steps to add a custom hero section to your homepage:

Step 1: Create a New Page

1. Go to Pages in your Ghost admin
2. Click New page
3. Set the page title to your desired hero title (e.g., “Welcome to My Photography Portfolio”)
4. Add your hero description in the page excerpt
5. Upload your hero image as the featured image

Step 2: Set the Page Slug

1. In the page editor, click the Settings button
2. Change the Page URL to home-hero

Step 3: Publish the Page

1. Click Publish to save your changes
2. Visit your homepage to see your new hero section appear
