Homepage Hero Section

Moment theme displays a hero section on the homepage with site title, description, and image by default. You can customize these elements by creating a custom page with the slug home-hero. This allows you to override the default hero content with your own title, excerpt, and featured image.

How It Works

When you create a page with the slug home-hero, Moment theme will automatically use:

• Page title → Hero section title
• Page excerpt → Hero section description
• Featured image → Hero section background image

If no home-hero page exists, the theme falls back to your site’s title, description, and cover image from Ghost settings.

Creating the Hero Page

Follow these steps to customize your homepage hero:

Step 1: Create a New Page

1. Go to Pages in your Ghost admin
2. Click New page
3. Set the page title to your desired hero title (e.g., “Welcome to My Photography Portfolio”)
4. Add your hero description in the page excerpt
5. Upload your hero image as the featured image

Step 2: Set the Page Slug

1. In the page editor, click the Settings button
2. Change the Page URL to home-hero

Step 3: Publish the Page

1. Click Publish to save your changes
2. Visit your homepage to see the new hero section
