Landing Sections Overview

Scope provides a variety of section types for building your landing page. Each section is created as a Ghost page with specific internal tags that control its appearance and behavior.

How Internal Tags Work

In Ghost, internal tags are tags that start with a # symbol. They are invisible to visitors but can be used by themes to add special functionality. Scope uses internal tags to:

  1. Identify pages as landing sections (#landing)
  2. Define the section type (#landing-brands, #landing-features, etc.)
  3. Customize section appearance (aspect ratios, columns, styles)

Combining Tags

You can combine multiple internal tags on a single page to customize its appearance. For example:

  • #landing + #landing-features + #landing-columns-3 = A 3-column features grid
  • #landing + #landing-featured-posts + #landing-style-carousel = Featured posts in carousel style
  • #landing + #landing-hide-title + #landing-container-wide = Wide section with hidden title

The order of internal tags doesn’t matter. Ghost will process all of them regardless of the order in which they’re added.
